It's our strangest Christmas Special yet! Which, let's be honest, is saying something. The Martian Choir sings, Sean Faust of What Does It Matter Podcast sings, Tricia's (2 Girls on a Bench) kids sing, plus special greetings from Melissa of The Brook Reading Podcast and Gerald & Natalie from the Conspeared Podcast who don't sing but drop by to spread some holiday cheer. Also a sneak peak at our New Year's special Cult Movie Trailer A-Go-Go! and some classic Christmas ads. Someone spiked our eggnog and we're okay with that. Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Mars needs Santas and they are going to take ours along with the joy of Christmas for their own. Santa Claus Conquers the Martians (1964) is widely regarded as one of the worst movies of all time. It is so bad, it's good. We here at Invasion of the Remake love a good alien invasion and decided to remake the original film by mixing it with another 60's cult favorite...Mars Attacks! Find out how'd we'd rethink, recast and ultimately remake Santa Claus Conquers the Martians on this week's Invasion of the Remake. Sure to be a new Christmas classic!

Christmas is cancelled in this Rankin & Bass stop-motion animated classic. Santa Claus is disillusioned. He thinks the spirit of Christmas has been lost, and no one believes in him anymore. This year he's taking a holiday, this year is The Year Without a Santa Claus. In 2006 a live-action remake starring John Goodman, Christ Kattan, Ethan Suplee, Dylan Minnette, Eddie Griffin, Delta Burke, Harvey Fierstein, Michael McKean, and Carol Kane would grace our screens. Can it capture the magic of the original or will it melt away in our memories? Join Invasion of the Remake as we investigate The Year Without a Santa Claus!

We got not one, not two, but three jailhouse sports movies for you this week. The Longest Yard (1974) is a Burt Reynolds football classic that was remade in the U.K. as Mean Machine (2001) with Vinnie Jones and it was remade once again in the U.S. as The Longest Yard (2005) starring Adam Sandler. It is a story of a disgraced football player who has been thrown in jail for his drunken antics. Lost in life he finds purpose and gives inmates something they desperately need, pride in themselves, as they become a team to play against the prison guards. Join Invasion of the Remake on the gridiron for this weeks tribute to the iconic Burt Reynolds!

This week Invasion of the Remake celebrates three years of podcasting glory with David Bowie starring in his first lead roll in a feature film, The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976). Director Nicolas Roeg brings his idiosyncratic style and vision to this very unique science fiction film. A film that relies more on implied ideas than plot and special effects. The results make for a surreal, disjointed, introspective experience that most likely would never had been made today. What would that look like? Could The Man Who Fell to Earth even be remade today? Join Invasion of the Remake as we attempt to wrap our collective minds around this movie and attempt to rethink, recast, and ultimately remake this cult classic film.

A man has been tasked with covering up a murder and finding the person who was last with the victim. Problem is that all the evidence points right back to him. Awkward. This is the premise of the thriller The Big Clock (1948) and the 1987 remake set during the height of the Cold War with a political back drop called No Way Out. No Way Out stars Kevin Costner, Gene Hackman, Sean Young, and Will Patton. Join Invasion of the Remake as we compare these two films in one of our funniest episodes ever!

Welcome to week 3 of Face Your Fears Month where we face our fears in the most passive way possible...by watching a movie about them. This week we strap on our climbing gear to remake Renny Harlin's Cliffhanger (1993) starring Sylvester Stallone, John Lithgow, Michael Rooker, Janine Turner, Rex Linn, Caroline Goodall, Leon, and Craig Fairbass. Invasion of the Remake climbs to new heights as we rethink this 90's action, adventure film about Gabe Walker who returns to face his friends after the tragic accident that cost them the life of a loved one. But a heist gone bad forces him to find his confidence and save the lives of everyone he holds dear. Cliffhanger is a fun movie with a lot of flaws, can the Invaders improve on it for a theoretical remake? Listen to this weeks episode to find out!
