Young Jill adopts a baby ape, named Joe, who grows into one gigantic ape! Seeking a better life for him she takes him to California, but the bright lights of the big city might not be the best habit for Mighty Joe Young.

Mighty Joe Young (1949) is a classic that showcased the first stop motion effects wizardry of Ray Harryhausen, bringing to life a larger than life ape named Joe. Terry Moore, Ben Johnson, and Robert Armstrong starred in this family adventure film. Nearly 50 years later Bill Paxton, Charlize Theron along with director Ron Underwood would remake Mighty Joe Young (1998) under the Walt Disney banner for a new generation. Neither were very successful, but both are wonderful examples of hidden gems that we will reveal in this week's episode of Invasion of the Remake!

It's fan challenge time and we've been challenged to remake The Alligator People (1959)! It is an interesting anomaly, part mystery, part horror, and part atomic age science fiction. It's a mixed bag of weird and unusual, just how we like it, and it's even got Lon Chaney Jr. in it! Join Invasion of the Remake as we enter the bayou in search of The Alligator People!
