They are in your theaters, your neighbors homes, and even your own. They have come to destroy your childhood and ruin your future. Only one podcast can protect you from the Invasion of the Remake!

Two children befriend one and another in this throat ripping coming of age story...wait what?

In 2008 a small Swedish film based on the novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist called Let the Right One In made quite the splash at film festivals and global cinemas. Two years later the newly resurrected Hammer films took interest and remade it for English speaking audiences starring Chloe Grace Moretz, Richard Jenkins, Elias Koteas,  and Kodi Smit-McPhee. While both films are quite similar, the changes made by Hammer make these films feel quite different. Join Jason, Jeff & Trish as they explore a world of bullies, murderers, and vampires this week on the Invasion of the Remake podcast!

It's Jason's birthday episode and the Invaders put on there shades and take a stab at remaking John Carpenter's conspiracy classic They Live with special guest Sam Stepanenko. They Live may be sparse in dialogue and yet it is full of quotables by the late Roddy Piper and some great performances by Keith David, Meg Foster, George Flower, Peter Jason, and Raymond St. Jacques. Improving on a sci-fi classic like They Live may be an impossible task but Invasion of the Remake is up to the challenge.

You will listen. Obey. You will love it. Conform. You share it. Consume. You will subscribe. Conform. You will rate 5-stars & review on iTunes & Stitcher. Obey. If you do these things you will chew bubble gum and kick ass...bubblegum not provided by this podcast.

in 1967 Edouard Molinaro adapted a frantic vaudevillian style play by Claude Mognier into the first screen adaptation of Oscar. In 1991 John Landis Americanized the French version by setting into the gangster 30's era with an all-star cast featuring Sylvester Stallone, Ornella Muti, Peter Riegert, Chazz Palminteri, Art LaFleur, Tim Curry, Vincent Spano, Linda Gray, Marisa Tomei,  with a special appearance by Kirk Douglas! Can the gangsters take on the madness of the French? Listen to this weeks episode and find out.

You've heard the predictions from the most qualified movie analysts now you can hear the predictions from the least qualified of all, the Invaders! Can Bryan Cranston upset Matt Damon & Leonardo DiCaprio? Does Mad Max: Fury Road run down the Revenant? Does Inside Out induce blinding rage in Jeff? Has anyone actually watched an Oscar nominated short film? Are snubs intentional? Find out the answer to one (two if you are lucky) of these questions on this weeks naked statue edition of Invasion of the Remake.

Of course we aren't just here to make our predictions. We also have the ultimate drinking game for your Oscar party that will wreck all who dare to play.

This week Trish forces us to watch & remake My Best Friend's Wedding. For Jason this is like kneeling in broken glass while acid drips into his eyes. We've now scratched that nagging itch Trish had for reworking a romantic comedy. Thankfully we watched this so you don't have too. We took that bullet for you. Listen to this humorous rage filled episode as we rip apart this Julia Roberts, Dermont Mulroney, Cemeron Diaz, and Rupert Everett led romantic comedy that came our at the height of Julia's career and was a bafflingly huge success. Don't miss our funniest episode yet!

Needless to say ****SPOILERS*** for Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

Yes, we went there. If you've seen both Star Wars: A New Hope (1977) and Star Wars: The Force Awakens it is hard to deny the similarities. So Jeff, Jason, and Trish use the Force explore the similarities and differences between these two films. A stealth remake that still gives us new and amazing characters to explore in a galaxy far, far, away. Are the Skywalkers doomed to repeat past sins? Or can Rey, Finn, and Poe Dameron finally break the hold of the Dark Side? Listen to this week's episode and join the Invasion!

By the power of Greyskull we are podcasting! Invasion of the Remake is joined by comic artist and special effects make-up artist Reid Fisher to flashback to 1987 and our childhoods to revisit Masters of the Universe starring Dolph Lundgren as He-Man and featuring Courteney Cox in her first feature film lead role.

We travel the halls of Eternia and spot the incredible Billy Barty, Meg Foster, the woman with the natural special effects eyes, a pre Star Trek: Voyager Robert Duncan McNeill, James Tolkan still treating everyone like "slackers", fight choreographer Anthony De Longis, and the legendary Frank Langella in one of the best villain roles ever, Skeletor!

Can we remake the film that helped end Canon films? Sure we can! Join us on this week's episode as we reimagine He-man & the Masters of the Universe as a live action film for today's audiences!

If you like this episode please tell others about and help the show grow. Give us 5-stars on iTunes, Stitcher, TuneIn Radio, or where ever you enjoy the show. Take a moment and write a review as well, we'd really appreciate it.

Strange noises, that thing in the corner of your eye, seething with murderous intent. The only thing is that there is nothing there, nothing but a hand. A twitching, moving hand that is strong and can kill.

One wouldn't think there are to many rebellious limb movies, but we list several during this episode and focus on The Beast With Five Fingers (1946) starring Robert Alda, Julie Holden, and the incomparable Peter Lorre along with the Oliver Stone directed The Hand (1981) starring Michael Caine.

For another evil hand movie check out our Evil Dead episode! http://invasionoftheremake.libsyn.com/ep9-evil-dead-1981-vs-evil-dead-2013

Use your less evil hand and share this podcast with your friends and be sure to rate review & subscribe! It only takes 2 seconds to give us 5-stars on iTunes, Stitcher, or where ever you choose to listen to us. Spread the word.

In the near future walking flash drives hold the cure to a plague that is wiping out humanity...unless you are named after a guitar. The final nail in the coffin for the bankrupt Canon films was the Albert Pyun film Cyborg (1989) starring a then brand new superstar in the making Jean Claude Van Damme. Originally planned as a sequel to Masters of the Universe (we'll get to this one in an upcoming episode), Cyborg cobbled together a script, costumes and sets from the developments of Masters of the Universe 2 and a proposed Spider-man film and the results were muscled bound people in sequin shirts and chainmail obsessed with ruling the world. How could this go wrong? Find out on this week's episode of Invasion of the Remake with special returning guest Rod (Used Cars) Dornian.

Presenting the first ever Invasion of the Remake...remake. Our original Blobcast got swallowed by a gelatinous Christmas Song & in a grand sense of irony we have remade our original episode because The Blob is to good not to get an episode. Steve McQueen starred in the 1958 sci-fi classic, but the Chuck Russell remake goes full horror with Shawnee (Saw) Smith and Kevin Dillon. Which Blob will come out on top? Find out in this weeks special Blobcast. There's always room for The Blob!

A New Years tradition is to look back in memory at the year that came before so the Invasion crew are not one to break tradition, but rather than look back at what we've done on the show we look back on the films we saw in 2015. The good ones, the not so good ones, and even a few we never actually saw...cause that's how we roll.

Listen to us chat about Trainwreck, Furious 7, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Pitch Perfect 2, Mad Max: Fury Road, Tomorrowland, Spy, Inside Out, Poltergeist, San Andreas, Jurassic World, Minions, Terminator: Genisys, Ted 2, Ant-Man, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Pixels, The Martian, Crimson Peak, Spectre, The Peanuts Movie, The Hunger Games, Creed, Krampus, The Hateful Eight, The Revenant, and of course the little film that could...Star Wars: The Force Awakens (spoiler free) and so much more!

Plus the movies in 2016 we are most looking forward too!

Santa Claus is a bad ass! In 1959 a Mexican Holiday film by Rene Cardona brought Santa Claus to the big screen in a crazy battle between him and the Devil Pitch to save Christmas. Is Santa secretly running a child labor camp? Is interpretive dance a symbol of pure evil? Are Santa's reindeer really robots? Does Santa create a potion that can melt you from the inside? All these crazy questions will be answered in this episode of Invasion of the Remake!

How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966) with Boris Karloff is a fundamental part of the Holiday season. A must watch by kids and adults alike. At the dawn of the new millennium Ron Howard took the Chuck Jones classic cartoon and brought it to life on the big screen with Jim Carrey, Taylor Momsen, Jeffrey Tambor, Christine Baranski, Bill Irwin, and Molly Shannon. We take the Dr. Suess book which takes approximately 12 minutes to read, an animated television special that is 24 minutes long, and a 144 minute live action film and cover it all 101 minutes. That's a savings of 79 minutes. You're welcome. Join Jason, Jeff, Trish and special guest, contortionist, fetish model, fashion designer, and actress Visha Loo for a swinging trip to Whoville.

In 1964 David Niven played a high class confidence man along side Marlon Brando's more gruff, low class con man. In 1988 Bedtime Story was remade into the hit film Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Michael Caine and Steve Martin took up the rolls. In 2015 Jason, Jeff, and Trish take these two comedy classics about competing con men to task and see which is best at the gift of the grift.

The Robert Zemeckis directed and Bob Gale written film starring Kurt Russell, Jack Warden, Gerrit Graham, Frank McRae, Joe Flaherty, David L. Is it still road worthy or destined for the scrap heap? Find out on the best best deal on the internet, the Invasion of the Remake Podcast!

It is a rare opportunity that the Invasion of the Remake hosts get to talk about an Oscar Award winning film and they do just that with Martin Scorsese's The Departed (starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg, Martin Sheen, Ray Winstone, & Alec Baldwin) which is a remake of the Chinese film Infernal Affairs by Andrew Lau (starring Andy Lau, Tony Chiu Wai Leaung, Eric Tsang, Anthony Chau-Sang Wong, Kelly Chen, and Sammi Cheng). It's a battle in the streets on this weeks I.O.T.R.
