It's an old story, boy meets inanimate object, boy kisses inanimate object (as you do), inanimate object becomes a real girl who falls in love with the weirdo who kisses inanimate objects. This week Ava Gardner comes to life in One Touch of Venus (1948) and we compare it to the 80s interpretation of the story with Kim Cattrall awakening in Mannequin (1987). Its all plaster and plastic this week on Invasion of the Remake.

The Invaders are taking the week off but we still like leaving a little something fun under your podcast tree. This week we debut a brand new idea of trying to figure out what a movie is about based on the title alone with hilarious results. We've never seen or heard of these movies and maybe you haven't either. On the very first (and possibly last) WTFIT we completely make-up plots for The Hebrew Hammer and UFO Blue Christmas, two very real movies we know nothing about.

Santa's sleigh is stuck in the sand on a beach in Florida. What will Santa do? Dig himself out or tell stories? It's the second one. Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny (1972) is an odd movie with little to no story. But it does have a cool title and for the first time ever Invasion of the Remake goes back to the drawing board for a page one rewrite on one of the worst Christmas films ever made.

This week we are joined by some very special guests I Love This You Should Too, Drinking & Screaming and Gargantucast to help us remake Neon Maniacs (1986) as part of the annual podcast event All The Horror! We threw them in the deep end of the pool (which may keep them safe) with this one as strange mutants are attacking San Francisco in this bizarre 80s horror flick. Will they survive the attack of the Neon Maniacs and will they forgive us for making them watch this weird creature feature?

Bolt your doors. Lock your windows. There is something in The Fog! IOTR brings all the horror this October beginning with John Carpenter's classic The Fog (1980) starring Adrienne Barbeau, Jamie Lee Curtis,  Janet Leigh, and Tom Atkins. We will also be comparing and contrasting it to the 2005 remake starring Tom Welling, Maggie Grace, and Selma Blair. Listen to Invasion of the Remake to find out what lays inside The Fog.

Invasion of the Remake gets a rare opportunity to talk about a sequel to a previous episode (Ep.45) as well as a remake in it's own right with Fright Night Part 2 (1988) and Fright Night 2: New Blood (2013). Charley Brewster & Peter Vincent must once again deal with the legacy of the vampires Dandrige and only IOTR can help you survive another Fright Night!

When two dogs and a cat mistakenly think they have been abandoned they make an incredible journey, traveling over 200 miles to get home to their family. The Incredible Journey (1963) is a Walt Disney family classic. It's a heartwarming tale of adventure that Disney would revisit 30 years later giving the heroic animals a voice for the first time in Homeward Bound: The Incredible Journey (1993) starring the voices of Michael J. Fox, Sally Field, and Don Ameche. Join Invasion of the Remake as we cross mountains to get to the heart of The Incredible Journey.
