It's a mixed bag of weird and unusual, just how we like it, and it's even got Lon Chaney Jr. in it! Join Invasion of the Remake as we enter the bayou in search of The Alligator People!

Riding public transportation can be scary enough these days but you don't want to add money hungry terrorists to that list. That's the premise for this action, crime, drama, The Taking of Pelham One Two Three (1974). The original film by director Joseph Sargent stars Walter Matthau, Robert Shaw, and Martin Balsam. The 2009 remake by director Tony Scott also had an amazing cast with Denzel Washington, John Travolta, Luis Guzman, and John Turturro. Join us on the New York subway as Invasion of the Remake takes a ride on Pelham 123!

This is one of the most requested episodes we have ever had. 300 (2006) based on the Frank Miller graphic novel is not a remake of The 300 Spartans (1963) but who are we to deny a fascinating comparison of this moment in Greek history. This is a comparison of history versus mythology. This is a tale that defined freedom and democracy in the western world. This is a story of a small band of warriors standing against a superior force. This is Sparta!

It's a Friday night after the apocalypse. What's a girl to do? Anything she wants! Welcome to the Night of the Comet (1984) a sci-fi, horror, comedy about two sisters at the end of the world, with zombies! It became Joss Whedon's inspiration for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and we think it's past time to revisit it and give it the patented Invasion of the Remake treatment. Join us for post-apocalyptic frivolity as we remake Night of the Comet!

Love is a magical thing. For our Valentine's Day special we take a look at the romantic, fantasy, comedy Practical Magic (1998) starring Sandra Bullock, Nicole Kidman, Stockard Channing, Dianne Wiest, and Aidan Quinn. It was a financial flop at the box office but time has made it an under appreciated cult film. Can cupid's arrow find it's mark in a remake? Join the Invasion of the Remake as we rethink, recast, and theoretically remake Practical Magic!

The regular gang takes a break as Jasin, Trush, and non-brand specific Jeff talk about the phenomena known as the Mockbuster. They'll chat about classics like Sinister Squad, The Fast and the Fierce, Starcrash, The Terminators, Atlantic Rim, AVH: Alien Vs. Hunter, The Amazing Bulk, Seytan, Gunan King of the Barbarians, Transmorphers, Hansel & Gretel, Da Vinci's Treasure, Snakes on a Train and more. These B-films draft on the popularity of big budget A-films in the hopes of making a quick buck. How did this happen? Is it even legal? Find out inside this weeks episode of Remake Invasion (the resemblance to Invasion of the Remake is purely coincidental)!

Once again we travel to a galaxy far, far away to complete the trilogy we started way back in Ep.23 and continued in Ep.123. By listener demand we were asked to continue our comparisons of the original Star Wars trilogy to the sequel trilogy. Spoilers ahead, as we're going to take an in depth look at Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker (2019) in this episode and make comparisons to Star Wars: Return of the Jedi (1983) and other films within George Lucas' original trilogy. May the Force be with you!

This week we travel to Italy to decipher the enigmatic cult, horror, comedy Dellamorte Dellamore (aka Cemetery Man, 1994) starring Rupert Everett. Cemetery Man is a strange film that can be enjoyed as a zombie comedy or on a deeper more thought provoking level. We piece this complicated skeleton back together and try to rethink, recast, and theoretically remake Cemetery Man on this weeks episode of Invasion of the Remake.

Before Home Alone there was Adventures in Babysitting (1987) where a babysitter is forced to enter the dangerous city with the kids in her care to rescue her friend. Everything that could go wrong does in this family friendly comedy by director Chris Columbus and star Elisabeth Shue. In 2016 Disney released a modern remake on the Disney Channel starring Sabrina Carpenter and Sofia Carson as competing babysitters. This new interpretation brings on some interesting changes that Invasion of the Remake will explore in this weeks episode, but one thing remains certain..."Don't mess with the babysitter!"

This week the Invaders travel to New York city and 34th Street to discover a miracle. Miracle on 34th Street (1947) is a Christmas classic and part of many people's traditional holiday watches. It won 3 Academy Awards with one for Edmund Gwenn as Kris Kringle. How does Richard Attenborough compare in the same roll in the 1994 remake? Join us as we compare both and explore what makes Miracle on 34th Street a Holiday classic.

Reefer Madness (1936) was a fictional propaganda film warning against the consumption of marijuana, getting addicted may result in hysteria, insanity, and even death. It became a cult classic because for its hilarious camp, overacting, and obvious misinformation. It would later be adapted as a stage musical which became a large scale television film in 2005 starring Kristen Bell, Christian Campbell, Alan Cumming, Neve Campbell, Ana Gasteyer, and John Kassir. This week Invasion of the Remake takes the mothership to the outer edge of Walt Disney's The Black Hole (1979). Science fiction had taken off in a big way in the 70s & 80s thanks to Star Wars and Disney wanted a piece of that. Ultimately it proved easier just to buy Star Wars, but this attempt is still fondly remembered by sci-fi fans. Join us as we get sucked into The Black Hole and throw our own ideas at what a modern day remake might look like complete with our own fantasy casting.

An evil fairy curses a princess to an eternal sleep, and only true love's kiss can awaken her. This week Invasion of the Remake enters the realm of fairy tales and fantasy with the Walt Disney classic Sleeping Beauty (1959) and Maleficent (2014) which explores Sleeping Beauty from the point of view of the mistress of evil herself, Maleficent. This is a big one, it's a horror icon, the doll possessed by the soul of serial killer Charles Lee Ray, better known as Chucky vs. the modern day tech gone awry version. That's right, this week we're talking about Child's Play (1988) and Child's Play (2019). It's slasher goodness on another All The Horror episode of Invasion of the Remake!

The trucks are angry, video games are exploding, and your toaster is laughing at you. Technology has run amuck in Maximum Overdrive (1986). Stephen King steps into the directors chair to adapt his own story to the silver screen with stars Emilio Estevez, Pat Hingle, Laura Harrington. We're joined by Movie Geek & Proud, Bad Reception, Film Flamers, and The Horror Academic to help us remake Maximum Overdrive in this All The Horror episode of Invasion of the Remake!

Even a man who is pure in heart, and says his prayers by night;
May become a wolf when the wolfbane blooms and the autumn moon is bright.

This week Invasion of the Remake is caught howling at the moon as we take a bite out of the original Universal Horror classic The Wolf Man (1941) starring the legendary Lon Chaney Jr. and Claude Rains. But there are more wolves in this pack as we also compare the original to The Wolfman (2010) remake starring Benicio Del Toro, Anthony Hopkins, and Emily Blunt. The moon is full and the werewolves are out hunting as we once again bring you All The Horror!
